The Intelligent Love course is a bold spiritual journey towards compassion and justice in the area of sex trafficking. Through an 8-week facilitated curriculum, participants will be educated and empowered to create meaningful change in their communities and larger world by engaging the root causes of sexual exploitation. The course is designed to equip individuals and groups to seek justice in their individual and collective contexts from a position rooted in faith. The title Intelligent Love refers to the need to move beyond charity to address systemic change. The more justice we have, the less charity we need. Sessions will include theological reflection, group exercises, discussion, lecture, guest speakers, and faith rooted-organizing training where we explore how our faith informs our resistance to the gender-based oppressions fuelling the sex industry. By the end of the course the group will be equipped to organize themselves and act with compassion and justice to interfere with the sex industry.
Course Topics Includes:
