Action to Uphold PCEPA

In 2014, Justin Trudeau said, “Prostitution itself is a form of violence against women.”  And yet, at their convention this summer, Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party passed a resolution calling for the decriminalization of the industry of prostitution and to overturn of Canada’s groundbreaking Protection of Communities and Exploited Persons Act (PCEPA).

Such a resolution would fully decriminalize the the sex trade, not just those being bought for sex (as the law mandates now), but the entire system of prostitution. This includes pimping, brothel owning and sex buying.

With the decriminalization of prostitution we would see an increase in sex trafficking, including of minors, to supply the state-sanctioned demand for paid access to the bodies of women and children.  Canada’s border cities would become a haven for sex tourists from the United States and other parts of the world.
